Mockingjay - Part 2 remained in first place yet again, while Krampus opens well in second. Meanwhile, The Good Dinosaur is set to be the lowest grosser for Pixar domestically while Creed is enjoying success.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 has spent its three weekends in release in first place. This weekend the final Games made $18.8 million (-63.7%). That's about on par with the third weekend drops of Catching Fire (-64.7%) and Mockingjay - Part 1 (-61.3%), both of which also happened after Thanksgiving. Mockingjay - Part 2 has grossed $227.3 million in 17 days, down 12% from the 17-day grosses of Mockingjay - Part 1 ($258.1 million) and 33% behind Catching Fire ($335.8 million). Regardless, the $160 million finale has grossed $524.1 million worldwide.

Krampus debuted in second place with $16.2 million. The Adam Scott Christmas horror flick was made for a mere $15 million, so the film can tank and still turn some sort of profit for Universal. That's not looking likely though. The film has a respectable 65% from Rotten Tomatoes (for the genre), and has the entire Christmas season horror-free. Not to mention foreign markets, which have pulled the total to $19.7 million.

The Good Dinosaur dropped to third with $15.3 million (-60.9%). Pixar's latest has grossed $75.7 million domestically in its first 12 days. The Good Dinosaur is set to join "Pixar's <$200 million club" with Cars 2 ($191.4 million), A Bug's Life ($162.7 million), and Toy Story ($191.7 million). Adjusted for inflation, A Bug's Life and Toy Story bring their grosses to $284.6 million and $365.8 million respectively while Cars 2 barely hangs in there with $199.7 million. Made for $200 million, The Good Dinosaur doesn't need that amount domestically to be a hit. Foreign markets have only brought in $55.4 million, but more are on the way. Until then, Pixar's 16th film has grossed $131.1 million worldwide.

Creed dropped to fourth with $14.9 million (-49.4%). The $35 million seventh installment in the Rocky series has grossed $64.5 million domestically so far, with foreign markets pushing the worldwide total to $69.8 million. It's not the biggest Rocky film, especially when adjusting for inflation, but Creed is still a hit for Warner Bros.

REVIEW

Spectre placed in fifth with $5.5 million (-57.1%). The 24th Bond film has made $184.6 million domestically in 31 days, down 30% from the 31-day total of Skyfall ($261.4 million), but up 17% from the 31-day total of Quantum of Solace ($151.6 million). The $245 million Bond flick has grossed $792.1 million worldwide - the 53rd largest gross in history.

REVIEW

The Night Before remained firmly in sixth with $5 million (-40.0%). Made for $25 million, the bro comedy has grossed $32 million in 17 days with foreign markets about to contribute to that total.

REVIEW

The Peanuts Movie moved to seventh with $3.5 million (-63.4%). That steep drop isn't too surprising with the film in its fifth weekend and The Good Dinosaur in full force. The animation's $121.4 million domestic gross satisfies the $99 million budget, with plenty of foreign markets on the way. The markets that have received the film have brought the worldwide total to $134.4 million.

REVIEW

Spotlight stayed in eighth with $2.8 million (-36.5%). The film added 83 theaters for a solid total of 980. The drama has grossed $16.5 million in 31 days, and the film is sure to pick up a slew of Golden Globe nominations Thursday morning. Spotlight still has a $20 million budget to cover, but foreign markets will certainly help when they come into play in January.

REVIEW

Brooklyn remained in ninth with $2.4 million (-38.2%). The $10 million Saoirse Ronan drama has grossed $11.2 million in 33 days. Right now the film is in 906 theaters after adding 61 more this weekend, which is a nice place to be with Thursday's announcement.

REVIEW

Secret In Their Eyes remained in the top ten with $1.9 million (-56.3%). In 17 days, the Julia Roberts-Chiwetel Ejiofor drama has grossed $17.2 million. It looks like this will be Julia Robert's lowest grosser since 2002's Confessions of a Dangerous Mind ($16 million). The runner-up - besides her voice work in The Ant Bully ($28.1 million) - is 2004's Closer ($33.9 million). There wasn't much of a budget with the film being purchased for distribution, so nobody's taking a hit with that gross, not even Julia Roberts was hurt too much here.

Trumbo slid to 14th place with $951k (-41.4%) from 660 theaters. The Bryan Cranston drama has grossed $4.1 million so far. With its $15 million budget entirely funded by an investor, nobody is getting fired here.

Victor Frankenstein spent its second weekend in 15th place with $746k (-69.8%). The retelling won't make much more domestically than the $5.1 million it's made so far. Foreign markets have helped the film out a bit, bringing the worldwide total to $24.1 million. That's not a good start to covering the $40 million budget though.

Finally, The Letters debuted in 886 theaters with $700k in 16th place. The Mother Teresa biopic completely flew under the radar, and its negative reception shows it won't pick up any steam.

Next weekend sees the debut of In the Heart of the Sea and a nationwide expansion for Legend.
