Captain America: Civil War added $72.6 million (-59.5%) to its domestic haul this weekend. As far as second weekends go, that's just shy of Catching Fire ($74.1m), The Dark Knight ($75.1m), Avatar ($75.6m), and Age of Ultron ($77.7m). It's also a lick above Iron Man 3 ($72.5m), Shrek 2 ($72.1m), and Spider-Man ($71.4m).

The domestic total is now $295.9 million, 152.0% above Captain America: The First Avenger and 86.3% above The Winter Soldier through this time. Civil War tracks 5.9% behind Age of Ultron, and 3.8% ahead of Iron Man 3. Iron Man 3 totaled out at $409.0 million domestic while Age of Ultron made it to $459.0 million. Civil War should end up closer to Age of Ultron's mighty sum thanks to strong word of mouth, but there's the likes of X-Men: Apocalypse, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, and Warcraft to go through. All of that leads to Disney killing its own box office momentum for the third time this year with the release of sure-to-be smash hit Finding Dory.

Civil War has grossed an additional $647.0 million from foreign territories with the leading markets being China ($124.2 million), South Korea ($58.8 million), and the UK ($42.8 million). The worldwide total is now $942.9 million, the 33rd best in history.

REVIEW

The Jungle Book scored $17.1 million (-30.1%) in its fifth weekend. With $311.1 million domestically and $516.9 million from foreign markets - leading markets are China ($152.1m), the UK ($54.4 million) and India ($36.8 million) - The Jungle Book is the 52nd highest grossing film of all time with $828.0 million worldwide.

Money Monster debuted to $14.7 million. That's a decent start for the $27 million picture. Foreign markets usually match the domestic total for these adult movies regardless of genre or critical reception. Looking at George Clooney's filmography has Hail, Caesar! ($30.0m domestic/$33.1m foreign), The Monuments Men ($78.0m/$76.9m), The Descendants ($82.5m/$94.6m), and The Ides of March ($40.9m/$35.0m) confirm that. Money Monster should turn an alright profit for TriStar if this goes according to plan. The film has snagged $4.7 million from foreign markets so far for a $19.4 million worldwide total.

The Darkness earned $4.9 million in its opening weekend. The Kevin Bacon horror movie didn't do much with its Friday the 13th opening, but it only carries a $4 million budget. For distributor High Top Releasing, The Darkness is already its second best domestic grosser behind The Green Inferno ($7.1 million).

Mother's Day plummeted to $3.2 million (-70.3%). After its record-breaking hold last week, the Jennifer Aniston-Kate Hudson-Julia Roberts comedy clearly can't hold its own without the holiday. With $28.7 million domestically and $8.6 million from foreign markets for a total of $37.3 million worldwide, Mother's Day isn't in good shape to covering its $25 million budget.

The top ten are as follows:

1. Captain America: Civil War - $72.6 million (-59.5%)

2. The Jungle Book - $17.1 million (-30.1%)

3. Money Monster - $14.7 million (NEW)

4. The Darkness - $4.9 million (NEW)

5. Mother's Day - $3.2 million (-70.3%)

6. Zootopia - $2.8 million (-12.1%)

7. The Huntsman: Winter's War - $2.6 million (-33.4%)

8. Keanu - $1.9 million (-41.5%)

9. Barbershop: The Next Cut - $1.6 million (-40.5%)

10. The Boss - $1.1 million (-37.4%)

Next week sees the release of Sony's The Angry Birds Movie, Universal's Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, and Warner Bros.' The Nice Guys.
